The trade association welcomes the latest proposal by the ÖVP to introduce a minimum limit of 30 euros for the obligation to issue receipts, the trade association announced in a broadcast. After all, there is a cash register obligation anyway, which means that every cash register is connected directly to the Ministry of Finance via an interface. Every transaction is reported automatically, regardless of whether a receipt is printed out or not.
However, customers should be able to obtain a receipt. In the case of a chocolate bar, the receipt will hardly be relevant, but in the case of a T-shirt it will be very relevant for a possible exchange, according to the trade association. And one assumes that there is no obligation for a digital receipt and thus for a conversion in retail.
“Therefore, we are open to this step, as long as there are no additional costs due to mandatory conversion efforts and bureaucracy in the processes,” said Rainer Will, Managing Director of the Trade Association.
In the grocery trade alone, up to 4 million transactions are recorded every day. Economically, 2.8 billion transactions are assumed. And regarding 70 percent of them are under 30 euros.
