The death of the boss of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner, Yevgeny Prigojine (here in May 2023 in Bakhmout in a video published by a Telegram channel of the Wagner group), has been confirmed by genetic expertise, announced Sunday the Russian Investigation Committee .

Genetic expertise conducted by the Russian Investigation Committee, responsible for investigating the crash that occurred on Wednesday in the Tver region, confirmed the identity of Yevgueni Prigojine among the victims of the accident, announced this Sunday, August 27 the committee.
After the “ molecular genetic expertise »it has been established that the identities of the ten victims whose bodies were recovered following the crash, “ match the list » passengers and crew on the plane, the investigating committee said in a statement.
In addition to Yevgueni Prigojine, his right-hand man, Dmitri Utkin, ex-officer of a special military intelligence unit and operational commander of Wagner, appeared on this list.
No information on the tracks studied
The investigators do not speak on the tracks examined to explain the accident, evoking neither the thesis of the accident nor that of a bomb, a surface-to-air missile or a pilot error.
The crash of the private jet carrying Prigozhin and his close guard immediately raised suspicions of an orchestrated assassination at the pinnacle of Russian power. In Washington, Paris, Berlin or kyiv, senior officials have implied that their suspicions go directly to the Kremlin.
