Islamabad: Pakistan’s former prime minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, who is in Attock jail, was questioned by a special investigation team in the cipher case. The international media reports that Imran Khan, who is serving a three-year prison sentence in a corruption case, was interrogated by anti-terrorist officers of the Federal Investigation Agency on Saturday.

The questioning comes days following he was sued under the Official Secrets Act for making public a cipher message (a secret diplomatic cable) from the Pakistani embassy in the US. He was interrogated for an hour in the Attock jail and inquired regarding the missing cipher copy.

Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi was arrested a week ago in the same case. Qureshi was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency at his residence in Islamabad.

The investigation team believes that Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood have deliberate involvement in the misuse of the cipher.
