Content The women’s 4×100 m relay misses the big coup in the final. The 4x400m relay missed the finals with 12th place overall.
Final 4×100 m women: risked a lot, won nothing
Natacha Kouni, Salomé Kora, Géraldine Frey and Melissa Gutschmidt did not manage another exploit in the final. The Swiss quartet was stopped with a time of 43.24 seconds (7th place), but was subsequently disqualified. The change from starting runner Kouni to Kora did not take place in the zone, following that there was nothing more to do. In the 4th final participation in a row, the sprint relay had to do without Mujinga Kambundji (rejection due to an inflammation of the plantar fascia) and Ajla Del Ponte (thigh injury). In the lead-up, the quartet set a best performance of the season (42.64).
The USA secured gold with a world championship record (41.03 seconds) with 100m world champion Sha’Carri Richardson. Among the men, Noah Lyles and Co. had already triumphed. Silver went to Jamaica (41.21) with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson. Great Britain secured bronze (41.97).

Heat 4×400 m women: Switzerland without exploit
As expected, the 4×400 m relay had previously missed the finals. Giulia Senn, Julia Niederberger, Rachel Pellaud and Catia Gubelmann ran the best time of the season in 3:29.07 minutes. The newly formed quartet (only Niederberger was at the start in Eugene 2022) made everyone sit up and take notice with this performance.
