Declining Approval: Joe Biden’s Plunge in Popularity among Young Voters

US President Joe Biden’s approval ratings have plummeted among young voters.

According to a survey Siena conducted on behalf of the New York TimesAmericans aged 18 to 29 are highly dissatisfied with the work of Mr. Biden.

Only 4% of them have a very favorable opinion of their president, so this figure is 17% at the level of the general population, all ages combined.

4% of young people say they strongly approve of Joe Biden’s work, compared to 18% in the general population.

A vertiginous fall

The current unpopularity of the American president with Generation Z contrasts enormously with that when he arrived at the White House.

In January 2021, Joe Biden’s young underworld approval rating was 59%, months following an election in which 60% of under-30s voted for the Democratic nominee.

Today, only 17% of young voters want Biden to represent the Democratic Party in the 2024 election. His support across all ages is 45%.

40% of young Democrats say it’s because they think Joe Biden is too old that they want someone else to run in the next presidential election.
