Attractive performance without excessive risk? When something looks too good to be true, it usually is. However, for more than ten years, investment in European “core” real estate – ie the purchase of buildings located mainly in urban areas – has generated results that are very close to it.
Today, the risk-return trade-off is less favourable. Rising interest rates, changing occupant preferences and tougher environmental regulations are creating less favorable conditions that might negatively impact some investors in the sector.
