Feirão Limpa Nome is an initiative that offers consumers the possibility of renegotiating their debts. Companies from the financial, retail and services sectors, which have lawsuits pending in the courts of Rio de Janeiro, were invited by the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) to participate in meetings to discuss the expansion of the initiative.
Last Friday’s (18th) meeting was attended by representatives of companies in the financial sector and lawyers from the Vivacqua Advogados, an office that represents enterprises in the financial sector. The purpose of the conversation was to align the expectations of these representatives with the TJRJ project.
Magistrate Elen de Freitas Barbosa, creator of the action, head judge of the Special Civil Court of Três Rios and coordinator of the Judicial Center for Conflict Resolution and Citizenship (CEJUSC), stated that Feirão Limpa Nome aims to rescue citizenship through the recovery of the credit of hyposufficient people, who have difficulty looking for creditors and being able to renegotiate their debts. “The result of the meetings was satisfactory. Everyone welcomed the ideas presented and are willing to participate”, said the judge.
The assistant judge of the Presidency, Fernanda Xavier de Brito, was also present at the meetings and reinforced the commitment of the current management to support the project. According to her, the initiative avoids the judicialization of countless processes, allowing for procedural speed and the improvement of judicial provision, as stated on the PJERJ (Judiciary Branch of the State of Rio de Janeiro) website.
For Ricardo Vivacquaa lawyer who was present at the meeting, this is an initiative that makes it possible to return access to credit lines for citizens, and adds “the Feirão also contributes to reducing the cost of companies and collaborates to unbottle the judicial machine”.
