By having these houses built, the rich hoped in fact above all to guarantee themselves a place in paradise. Nothing is really free…”, slips the guide, the smile on the corner. These houses-God are always reserved for the elderly in precarious situations, who have only a very modest rent to pay. Often, they hide a small interior garden. What a way to escape for a moment from the sustained tourist flow that animates the historic center of the city.
