Security problems are getting out of hand in Vienna – far-reaching solutions are required
Vienna (OTS) – “The security problems are getting out of hand in Vienna. But instead of just talking regarding it, the Viennese SPÖ should finally get to the root of it, ”said the security spokesman for the Vienna People’s Party municipal councilor Hannes Taborsky in view of today’s report by the Kronen Zeitung on the “local inspection” at Keplerplatz.
It is clear that the area around the Viktor-Adler-Markt has developed into a center of isolation and an attraction for parallel societies. And at night time a hotspot for drug trafficking.
Consistent integration and education policy
Although it is a first positive step that it is now obviously being acknowledged that there are problems, no substantial and far-reaching solutions are still being considered. In any case, the mere call for more police will not solve the problem. “The Viennese SPÖ must finally tackle the main challenges. The social magnet called Vienna must finally be a thing of the past. And what is needed above all is a consistent integration and education policy. Vienna doesn’t get any better if you just talk things over and look the other way. We are taking a close look and calling for the necessary measures,” Taborsky concludes.
