Former Security Advisor Accused of Aggravated Extortion: Latest Updates and Details

This Friday, the hearing to impose measures once morest the former security advisor to the Presidency, Alejandro Muyshondt, was held in the Sixth Court Against Organized Crime, in this capital. Muyshondt is accused of being a “double agent”, and according to this day, he has also been accused of the crime of “aggravated extortion”, although no details were provided since the judge decreed the total confidentiality of the case.

The judge also ordered that the defendant remain in detention while the investigations progress. It was also not known where he has been kept in prison since he was captured on August 9 by the National Civil Police.

Muyshondt appeared virtually before the court to be accused of revealing secret facts, actions or documents by an official employee and favoring evasion.

Neither prosecutors nor defense gave statements to the press that they expected to know details regarding the case, precisely because total secrecy had been declared.

According to newspaper El Mundo, Muyshondt was added a new crime this Friday, which is aggravated extortionalthough no further details were obtained.

On August 9, the police captured Muyshondt on accusations of having helped former President Mauricio Funes to avoid his capture, in addition, President Nayib Bukele assured on the X network that his adviser provided information to three journalists, to a foreign government (not which one was specified) and other foreign citizens.

Previously, Muyshondt leaked information regarding alleged crimes committed by deputy Erick García, involving him in a possible case of drug trafficking, laundering and nepotism.
