Journalist Janko Roettgers would have had access to internal documents at Meta and indicated in a blog post that the American company would prepare a system allowing content to be streamed directly from this next generation of glasses. Streamers will therefore be able to show their daily life or their current release on the Facebook and Instagram networks.
The Ray-Ban Stories 2 might also transcribe comments written by viewers in the chat into an audio version. We can quickly imagine the shambles that this might cause, especially for influencers and videographers supported by a large community. It is therefore possible that this feature is reserved for a targeted audience, for example, according to Roettgers, subscribers who have taken out a support subscription and donate a few euros each month to their favorite videographer.
To support this power-hungry tool, the Ray-Ban Stories 2 should be equipped with a larger battery and more powerful cameras, with improved video quality compared to the previous generation.
In terms of novelties, the new glasses would also have an automatic volume control system, which would increase the sound on its own when you are in a noisy environment. Finally, Meta would add a new security feature to prevent users from taking photos and videos if they managed to turn off the LED on the front that tells passersby that the glasses’ cameras are recording.
The Ray-Ban Stories, second of the name, should be presented this fall by Meta and would be available before the end of this year 2023.
