The Invictus Games, initiated by Prince Harry in 2014, will take place in Germany for the first time this year. The sports competition for soldiers injured in action was launched. Under the motto “A Home for Respect”, the city of Düsseldorf, together with the Bundeswehr, welcomes around 500 competitors from 22 nations as well as around 1000 family members and friends to compete in a total of ten disciplines.
Support in a double pack
The younger son of the British king has now announced that he will be back with his wife Duchess Meghan (42). The two had already paid a visit to the city last year. Afghanistan veteran Prince Harry is sticking with the project despite his departure from the royals and the consequent loss of his military ranks. The “Invictus Games” will take place from September 9th to 16th this year.
The two spouses are no longer listed as “Royal Highnesses” on the British Palace’s website. The couple had voluntarily forgone the salutation when they stepped down from royal duties in spring 2020. Harry and Meghan have been living in a spacious property with a swimming pool in a posh area of Montecito, California for several years. The couple now have two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, and three dogs. With their Archewell foundation, the two also support organizations that work, for example, for mental health, species protection and other concerns.
