The saboteurs of the “Nord Stream” pipelines are said to have fled to Ukraine following the attack in September, the German weekly “Der Spiegel” reports in advance today. According to research carried out jointly with ZDF, numerous traces of data, which experts from the German Federal Criminal Police Office and the Federal Police evaluated, point to this.
The analysis of IP addresses and other data, among other things, would come to the conclusion that the suspects were in Ukraine before and following the act of sabotage and communicated from there. According to security circles, the picture that this evaluation produced is fairly clear.
False flag operation unlikely
In general, the suspicion that a Ukrainian commando was responsible for the attack now prevails among investigators and agents. One knows far more than is publicly known, said a top official. It said there was no evidence of a “false flag” operation by Moscow, in which the Russians triggered the explosions and deliberately set the wrong track in Ukraine.
The findings correspond to those of the Dutch military intelligence service and the CIA, which had warned months before the attack of a Ukrainian sabotage squad and exactly the scenario that then took place.
More attack plans
In addition to the blasting of the “Nord Stream” pipelines in Ukraine, an attack on the “Turkstream” gas pipeline through which Russian gas flows to Turkey was also planned in the Black Sea, according to research by “Spiegel” and ZDF further. In the summer of 2022, in addition to the warning of the attacks on the “Nord Stream” pipelines, there would also have been corresponding information from intelligence services in several countries.
