WWE wrestler Bray Wyatt died Thursday at the age of 36.
WWE Creative Director Paul “Triple H” Levesque broke the sad news on social media.

Wyatt, whose birth name was Windham Rotunda, was known for his creative spirit pushing boundaries with his innovative characters. He had been inactive for several months to treat a health problem, the nature of which has not been publicly disclosed.
Wyatt had been with WWE since 2009, except for a stint of just over a year in 2021 and 2022 when he was released by the company. He was WWE Champion in 2017 as well as WWE Universal Champion twice in 2019 and 2020.
Wyatt came from a family of wrestlers. His father Mike Rotunda rose to prominence in WWE as Irwin R. Schyster in the 1990s. Horsemen,” led by the legendary Ric Flair. His brother Taylor also wrestled in WWE, where he was known as Bo Dallas.
In 2019, Wyatt made his mark in the wrestling world when he reinvented himself as “The Fiend”, a supernatural character wearing a mask worthy of a horror movie. Bray Wyatt’s character was still featured in segments spoofing a children’s show called “Firefly Funhouse,” but it was his alter ego, “The Fiend,” who fought for him. These were original ideas that Rotunda had mostly thought up on his own.
