URGENT: LIDL recalls Paw Patrol cookies due to explicit content on packaging – Investigative Report

It’s common for people to share product recalls, whether it’s because of an unlisted allergen, traces of salmonella, or the presence of pieces of glass or plastic. But this one is very special…

As indicated by our colleagues from the Sun, LIDL is urgently recalling its cookies on the theme of Paw Patrol, this cartoon known to all parents around the world. The reason ? A dad was “horrified” when he noticed what was hidden on the packaging of the products in question.

A web address, using the name of Appy Kids Co, was mentioned in the name of the package. Except that the manufacturer does not really have a site. What was behind this link? A Chinese porn domain full of explicit images and videos.

“I was horrified (…) I imagined it had to be some kind of typo, but that’s irrelevant. These are cookies intended for children, so there will definitely be children visiting this website. What’s worse is that not only is it a kid-directed product, it actually says “kids” in the URL, which is disgusting considering the type of content featured on the website”, testifies the father who discovered the fault.

LIDL has launched an investigation. A note was left on UK store shelves warning customers not to view the URL, which it described as “compromised” and “unsuitable for children’s consumption”. Please note that buyers who return the affected products to the store will be reimbursed.
