Minister of Justice’s Birthday Party Turns Controversial: Guests Urinate on Police Suit

On August 14, Minister of Justice Vincent van Quickenborne organized a party at his home to celebrate his birthday.

The day following that evening, the situation degenerated. Indeed, three of his visibly drunk guests decided to go out and urinate on a police suit placed a few meters further than the home of the Minister of Justice. A police presence which is daily since Vincent van Quickenborne has been the subject of several threats.

This is all the more surprising since, according to our colleagues from the Nieuwsblad, the Minister of Open VLD was present at the time of the events.

Unfortunately for them, a police camera was also installed to continuously film the minister’s residence and street. From a distance, therefore, the police were able to follow the damage to his vehicle.

The next day, the police zone removed his vehicle. “We have worked very hard to protect this man and his family and now his guests – right in front of him – are playing such a ‘prank’ on him. No, we’re not laughing at this drunken joke,” an area police officer said.

The prosecution was informed of the facts today. “An official report has been drawn up and a criminal investigation has been opened for defamation of the police,” said prosecutors’ spokesman Tom Janssens. “We are now trying to identify the people involved.”
