Tevez has been unemployed ever since. The former football player, however, did not intend to give up and found a new club. On Tuesday, he was announced as Independiente coach. The Argentine’s new team finished the 2023 season in 24th place, just six points clear of the relegation zone. He currently competes in the national cup. In the past, he reached, among others, 16 times for the Argentine championship.

– I am not here to be salvation for Independiente. Accepting this job, I am facing a very important challenge. We have 13 finals and I’m putting my career at risk. Today you can’t talk regarding a project, because you have to win. We must unite. Independiente is a sleeping giant. We have to wake him up, and I’ll do everything I can to make it happen. The players have to understand that my teams play intensively and only those who give their best will come on the pitch,” Tevez told the club’s media.
Carlos Tevez’s long and successful career
Carlos Tevez started his football career with Boca Juniors. In 2006, he went to Europe, where he played successively for West Ham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus. He then returned to Argentina and ended his career following parting ways with Boca Juniors. He played the most matches in the Premier League (202) and scored 84 goals. He has, among others, three championships of England and a Champions League victory with Manchester United. Tevez is also a former Argentina international. He played 76 times for the national team and scored 13 goals.
The former footballer will make his debut on the Independiente coaching bench on the night of Sunday to Monday at 00:15 Polish time. Then the rival of his team will be Velez Sarsfield.
