The town of Bassenge and its merchants have been victims of a scam for a few days. A lady in her forties goes to the shops to ask for a subsidy on behalf of the Commune in order to carry out the annual agenda called “Info back to school 2023”.
This gives false coordinates, namely Chaussée de Wonck 118 in Bassenge, and offers sponsorship of €60 excluding VAT to include a visual in the diary in question.
“The municipality never asks for sponsorship in order to finance a municipal service. We remind you that it is important to find out regarding the authenticity of this type of request as well as non-profit organizations or other organizations that contact you with this in mind, ”explains the commune of Bassenge on its Facebook page.
If you have been the victim of this scam, you can contact the police or make an appointment at the local post (number: 04/374.88.50) to file a complaint.
