The European Civil Aviation Authority (EASA) has given the green light to the new business jet, the Falcon 6X, from the French aircraft manufacturer Dassault, to which the Belgian aircraft manufacturer Sabca supplies parts. In doing so, the device also receives its certification by the American authorities (FAA), according to a press release Tuesday from Dassault Aviation.
This certification concludes a test campaign lasting more than two years during which 1,500 flight hours were performed around the world. The first units of the Falcon 6X are in the finishing phase. Its program was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic when the machine was due to enter service last year. It has a maximum range of 10,200 km and will fly at a maximum speed of Mach 0.90. It might, for example, link London to Hong Kong or even Los Angeles to Moscow. It can accommodate up to sixteen passengers. The Sabca group manufactures several essential parts – one of the tanks as well as elements of the fuselage and the tail – of this new business jet. This program guarantees him at least fifty jobs.
