2nd Place: Unebi High School

Second place is Unebi High School with 23.2% of the votes. Located in Kashihara City in the southern part of the Nara Basin, its predecessor was the Uneba Branch School of Nara Prefecture Junior High School, which opened in 1896. Completed in 1933, the school building is designated as a national registered tangible cultural property.
Designated as a “research and development school” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, we implement a curriculum such as “inquiry basics” in the English field by assistant language teachers (ALTs). In addition, as extracurricular classes, we also have Saturday classes, supplementary classes for each season, and also have high school-university collaboration initiatives such as Kyoto University tours.

The first place is “Nara High School” with 61.1% of the votes. The predecessor of Nara Prefectural Nara Junior High School, which opened in 1924, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023. We have received research designation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a “curriculum that does not depend on grades,” and we have introduced a credit system so that students can select subjects according to their own career plans and interests.
It has also been designated as a “Super Science High School (SSH)” by the ministry, and works with universities to develop global leaders in science and technology who will bring regarding new innovations. In the 2023 university entrance examination, we produced a large number of successful applicants at national and public universities such as Kyoto University, Osaka University, and Kobe University, as well as private universities such as Sekiseki Doritsu.
