From this Tuesday August 22 at 10 p.m. until Friday August 25 at 6 a.m., the Ring will be completely closed in the direction of Brussels, between the Lillois/Braine-l’Alleud and Waterloo interchanges (drève Richelle).
A portion of the East Ring will be closed from this Tuesday evening towards the capital, with, for transit traffic to Brussels, a diversion set up by the West Ring. These are the last days of intervention necessary to complete the rehabilitation of the Ring of Brussels, from Braine-l’Alleud to the Flemish Region in the direction of the capital. Previously postponed, they are this time brought forward “in view of the particularly unfavorable weather conditions announced for next weekend”, announces Sofico in a press release. “This modification is the only possible option to complete the site for the start of the school year.”

For users traveling on the East Ring, between exit n°24 Lillois/Braine-l’Alleud and access n°27 Waterloo (drève Richelle) towards Brussels: only one lane will be available and the maximum speed will be limited to 90 km/h in the area.

To reach Brussels, a diversion will be set up from the Haut-Ittre interchange and all the roads converging there (E19/A7, E411/A4, N25, N28, N280, etc.). Users will have to take the West Ring towards Wauthier-Braine. Users who take the East Ring for a local destination will be obliged to leave the Ring at exit 24 Lillois/Braine-l’Alleud.
Started at the end of June, this project aims to rehabilitate and secure the Brussels Ring (RO) from Braine-l’Alleud to the Flemish Region, towards the capital. The total cost of the rehabilitation and security works is estimated at three million euros. Some 36,000 vehicles circulate each day in normal times on the portion of the ring concerned.
