Wallonia has granted the Allik company planning permission to build 124 student accommodation in Charleroi, project developer Damien Darche confirmed on Monday. According to him, these should be ready for the start of the 2025 school year.
These apartments will all be located in a large building in the city center. Formerly occupied by Forem, it is located a few hundred meters from the new Charleroi campus, which is to be inaugurated next September.
The accommodations that have received the green light from the delegated official of Wallonia have been designed to each have their own sanitary facilities. A kitchen and a dining room are provided on each floor. The building will also have specific study areas, a cafeteria and a small fitness area.

Made public a few months ago, the project has reached an important stage with the favorable decision of the delegated official.
Allik’s shareholding is 100% owned by the Marc Liégeois group (SARL Argema). According to Damien Darche, the company is acting as a promoter on the project, which means that it might eventually sell the building to investors.
