Will Francis, an Anaheim Ducks defense prospect, will have to battle cancer for a second time, he announced Monday.

Francis, who discovered the recurrence during a routine exam, now expects to miss the start of the next campaign and school year at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He is aiming for a return in January.
