For several years, Meta developers have mainly focused their efforts on sending features and customizing messages/images/videos on WhatsApp. Latest addition, the instant messaging application includes the ability to share photos in HD quality. Users can therefore, if they wish, send images in 4032 x 3024. Be careful though, sending these photos inevitably takes longer, while they take up much more storage space. For WhatsApp, the next step will obviously be to send videos in HD.
Conversely, formatting and text editing has rather been left aside by Meta since 2017. Nevertheless, and according to our colleagues from the WABetaInfo site, the WhatsApp teams have obviously decided to work on some text formatting optionsin particular to correct its text or highlight certain elements.

WhatsApp will improve text editing and formatting
Since 2016, WhatsApp has allowed users to bold, italicize, or strikethrough items to emphasize specific aspects or redact them. The monospace option was added a year later, mainly to format code snippets. Since that date, the formatting tools have not been updated. Inevitably, WhatsApp’s main competitors such as Telegram, Discord and Slack have taken the opportunity to get ahead in this particular area.
However and according to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is preparing to take over formatting code blocks, block quotes, and bulleted lists. These features were first seen in the latest beta version of WhatsApp Desktop. Unlike the monospace option, the code block format displays text in a slightly different colored windowlike on Slack.
As for them, quote blocks can be used to quote a specific part of an article or message. This is particularly useful for replying to certain parts of a message rather than the entire text. Finally, there is no need to go over the usefulness of bulleted lists, in particular to list arguments or make shopping lists (or others). For the time being, it is not yet known when Meta intends to launch these new features on the Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp.
