A night in prison
Breakout year 2022 for the LSU Tigers
Malik Nabers spent a night in prison earlier in the week and was then released. Apparently he had illegally carried weapons with him, more details were not known. The 19-year-old has been with the LSU Tigers for two years and was instrumental in his collegiate team’s SEC West title last season. He caught 72 passes for 1,017 yards and three touchdowns, making a huge leap as a sophomore.
For the 2021 season, Nabers switched from Southside High School in Youngsville, Louisiana, to LSU as a four-star recruit following recommending himself there with 58 passes caught for 1,223 yards and 21 touchdowns. He had previously agreed to attend Mississippi State University, but then decided to go to the university in his home state. As a freshman, Nabers had started six times, catching 28 passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns. Nabers might report for the NFL draft in 2024, but the NFL scouts will already have recorded the arrest in their notebooks.
