Yvoir Municipal Elections: LB and LBS Lists, Succession, and EPY – October 2024 Update

2023-08-20 15:00:00

During the 2018 municipal elections, the list led by outgoing mayor Étienne Defresne was called LB ( List of the Mayor).

At the end of the ballot and following several adventures, an alliance was concluded between the list of the has reported, by Patrick Evrard, and the LB list. The two thus formed a strong majority of 18 members, leaving the three EPY advisers ( Together for Yvoir) in opposition. The mayorship, however, escaped Étienne Defresne who, with eight elected officials, had to pass the sash to Patrick Evrard, whose formation garnered ten seats. We have sometimes wondered if the two lists were not going to merge in view of the next election. Nothing will happen.

During a recent barbecue, the LB list announced to become LBS as Common sense. It will be led by the current president of the CPAS Christine Bador. A first in Yvoir, which has only ever known men at the top of the list. This new name, specified the leader, will allow an identity and visibility in the eyes of fellow citizens. The objective: to return to realistic projects that are close to the concerns of citizens. The declared desire is to bring people together. Sound management of the municipality and a balance between humility to work for each citizen and pride in doing so in a municipality that has assets to highlight is also advocated.

The current elected officials of the LB list intend to stack up with LBS. New faces will also appear. Furthermore, it is believed that some people, close to Succession would join the LBS roster.

In the current state of the situation, we can say that there will be, at least, three lists in October 2024: LBS; Succession on which will still appear the current mayor Patrick Evrard, without however specifying his place; And EPYconducted by Bertrand Custinne.
