Owner-operator of the L&F hair salon in Charleroi, Fabrizzio Padovan has chaired the Shop In C merchant association since its creation in February 2022. “In 18 months, we have had a string of successes,” he says.
Events have been created to re-enchant the city: Christmas parade, grand escapade, pancake competition with Petzi, clearance sale, Easter cookery. “We have built this with our partners in a positive dynamic”. The merchants of the city center have indeed joined forces with Rive Gauche, Ville 2, Galeria Inno. “We have also initiated a winning collaboration with the non-profit organization Charleroi Centre-Ville, continues Fabrizzio Padovan. In June, we obtained full free parking on Saturdays on a thousand paying spaces in the intra ring, without time limit. Before , the smart shopping operation allowed users to park for two hours free of charge in 500 spaces. Our action has therefore made it possible to considerably improve reception conditions”, he observes. With the consequence: “we have seen an increase in footfall in shops this summer, proof that consumers have seized the opportunity. “
And the start of the school year promises to be grandiose: two events are on the calendar. The first is the Wallonia festivals, the weekend of September 8 and 9. “With Shop In C, we have programmed a concert rally in 11 brasseries and cafés in Charleroi on September 7 and 8. The operation is called rally Thursdays.” Rock, pop, variety, DJ sets are on the bill. “For the occasion, we have negotiated with the Seety platform free parking in the full intra-ring, a first.”
Two hours of parking will be offered to all users who download – or already use the Seety application.
Good plans for students
“On Friday 8, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Charleroi Métropole campus, we will launch our Bons Plans Étudier à Charleroi operation.” More than 200 merchants have confirmed their participation: they offer special conditions to students (discounts, gifts , special menus, reduced prices, etc.) cardholders, who attend a college or university in Charleroi. “A target audience that we intend to expand to students from all universities and colleges in the country,” continues the president.
The Shop In C website is currently under construction, it will be upgraded for September 8th. New: all Bons Plans partners will be geolocated on a map. “Our members will be entitled to a supplement: an announcement presenting their business and a photo. We are also going to put in place a top 10 of the current offers: the businesses of Good Plans which offer the best offers will be valued, a box office which will be renewed at regular intervals to allow everyone to be (re)known! ” For the Christmas period, Shop In C is preparing a splendid program.
