The Minister of Economy and presidential candidate of the Union for the Fatherland (UxP), Sergio Massa, expressed his intention to convene a “national unity government” if elected, incorporating figures from different political trends into his cabinet, including radicals and Peronists who are currently in the PRO.
In an interview published in the Clarín newspaper, Massa highlighted the need for an inclusive government, stating that would seek the collaboration of Peronist leaders who have accompanied Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, as well as independent and radical sectors.
Given the proposals of the opposition candidates Javier Milei and Patricia Bullrich, Massa’s focus is on a “broader, national unity government.”
«Forward there are two paths for Argentina: the one they propose, without distribution, without State and authoritarian and another Argentina, which It is going to put me in the obligation to convene a broader national unity government, with radicals and Peronist leaders who accompanied Horacio [Larreta]with independent sectors,” said the UxP candidate.
Massa pointed out that the electorate “votes for people rather than for political forces” in the presidential elections, which reinforces his conviction in the need to establish bridges between various political currents for the sake of the welfare and development of the country.
The Unión por la Patria candidate also mentioned that the objective is “unite voters from different sectors under his proposal,” including Peronists and radicals who share his vision of social justice and free education. In addition, he highlighted the importance of respecting diversity and political differences, noting that his approach seeks to unite in pursuit of collective progress.
On the public support that former President Mauricio Macri gave Javier Milei, Massa expressed that this action contributed to fragmenting the political space of Together for Change and push voters towards this new political figure. He stated that such behavior “disrespects the voters of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and the radicals.”
