The Institute of Legal Medicine of Córdoba performs 312 autopsies, 134 for violent deaths, during 2022CÓRDOBA
He Institute of legal medicine and Forensic Sciences (IMLCF) of Córdoba, dependent on the Ministry of Justice, Local Administration and Public Function, has carried out 6,581 performances from its different services throughout 2022, 5% more than the previous yearthe vast majority of them court order with the aim of assessing and determining the bodily damage produced, as stated in the annual balance of this service.
Specifically, the professionals performed 3,603 reports for injuries, 2,190 psychiatric, 99 for crimes once morest sexual freedom, 54 for work capacity, 246 generic assessments physical state, 35 sample collections, seven due to medical malpractice, 63 psychological assessments, 113 psychosocial studies of family teams and 171 psychosocial studies of the Comprehensive Assessment Unit of Gender Violence (UVIVG), as detailed by the Board in a press release.
In the injury section, the most common were due to assault (2,424), followed by those caused by gender violence (576), traffic accidents (282), domestic violence (137), different types of accidents (99) y minor traffic accidents (85).
In the area of Psychiatry, the most requested reports were those intended to determine the internment of a person (1,739) followed by those of disability (223)imputability (206) and substance use (22).
Likewise, during 2023 the Forensic Pathology Service has carried out 312 autopsies (to 237 men and 75 women) who determined 168 deaths natural and 134 violent, while in another ten cases it was not possible to specify it. Among the violent deaths, more than half were by suicide, a total of 70, compared to 61 accidental and three cases of homicide. In addition, the professionals carried out five analyzes of bone remains.
Likewise, forensic doctors participated in 345 procedures for removal of corpses ythey went to 441 subpoenas in court, for which the declaration by videoconference is increasingly requested, which was carried out 66 times. To this we must also add his training and research activity.

The Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences has, on the one hand, a Forensic Clinic service, where all health issues related to the facts followed by judicial bodies in the Civil, Criminal and Social sphere are studied.
