Colorful program for an extended shopping experience with opening hours until 11 p.m

Vienna (OTS) Preparations are in full swing: On September 1st, the long night of Vienna’s markets will take place for the second time, and the varied program for all 17 retail markets is almost complete. The market stalls will be open until 11 p.m. on the last Friday during the holidays, and the extended shopping experience will be embedded in a colorful supporting program for young and old. More than 100 show acts are planned. The Long Night of the Viennese Markets is one of the numerous measures to further stimulate the Viennese markets. Market councilor Ulli Sima is looking forward to the event: “The number of visitors to the Vienna markets is constantly increasing and we want to win new guests with different offers and convince them of the fresh market offer. Thanks to the stallholders and the dedicated colleagues from the market office for their tireless efforts!“

The comprehensive program for September 1 can be found at www.marktamt.wien.athere is an excerpt from the colorful offer at the participating markets throughout Vienna:

  • Carmelite Market: From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Kasperl will entertain the little market guests. From 7 to 8 p.m., the famous children’s songwriter Kiri rocket will perform. The market offer is expanded to include a handicrafts market with a textile workshop, porcelain manufacture, felt workshop, ceramics, fashion, textile art and hat design.
  • Volkert market: Chess players are welcome here from 6:30 p.m. for a big chess tournament. In addition, the market offering will be expanded to include mobile market stalls at the farmer’s market. 3 music groups, the Duo Mopet with Viennese songs, Marie Madame with swinging melodies and Bandi & Bosic with blues, jazz, rock and pop as well as French chansons will provide entertainment.
  • Front garden market: A colorful music program, including a drum show by Michael Seyfried, ensures good entertainment here.
  • Rochus market: The market right next to the subway station is used by the Cover Killers and the band Best Lovers.
  • Naschmarkt: Cooking shows with Ms. Hermi from the market office have been announced here. Musical entertainment is also provided: Patricia Hill, the subway star Hary Levan, a live soul session with Big John, Heurigen music by the “Zwei Freunderln” and Bohemian brass band music by “Freches Blech”.
  • Viktor-Adler market: Musical performances by a swing big band, Son del Raval by Basis Kultur Wien with rumba and Anela Cindrak with Montenegrin classics have already been confirmed.
  • Meidling market: From 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. there is a dog walk show by mopsfidel. The musical entertainment is also varied: a mixture of jazz, Latino, Syrian sounds, Afghan melodies is presented. Alex Miksch is no longer unknown to lovers of bluesy tones and Uli & Tom play jazz at its finest.
  • flea market: From 7 p.m. ELSA will provide good entertainment with alternative rock and elements of pop, jazz and punk.
  • Meiselmarkt: The children’s songwriter Bernhard Fibich has announced that he will be there from 6 to 7 p.m. The subway stars Sun State of Mind with blues, pop and soul and rocking electro sounds are also expected.
  • fountain market: The Brunnenmarkt becomes an open-air restaurant and the largest design market in Vienna, arts and crafts and delicatessen are presented on Yppenplatz, and various DJs ensure perfect entertainment. A handyman, a magician and also SodL from Basis Kultur Wien have announced their indie rock performances in Brunnengasse.
  • coach market: Entertainment for those interested in dancing has announced itself here: Latino, contemporary and salsa, everything a dancer’s heart desires.
  • Johann Nepomuk Vogl market: Magic, live yoga, please don’t forget mats, and rock by Acoustic Voyage will create a great atmosphere.
  • Gersthofer market: Fans of Angela Walter’s saxophone sounds can look forward to this.
