Imam and drug dealer, he falls into the nets of OCRTIS agents

An imam involved in drug trafficking in Gandiol was arrested by the Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) of Saint-Louis.

The intervention of the police at the home of this “religious” led to the seizure of 2.5 kg of Indian hemp. It all started with information received by agents from the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), which reported illicit drug trafficking orchestrated by […] in MBoumbaye, a locality in the commune of Gandiol.

Alerted by this information, confirmed by a source from the criminal world, BRS agents in Saint-Louis carried out a surprise operation at the places indicated and arrested the imam in possession of a quantity of drugs. During this operation, they seized 2.5 kg of Indian hemp. During his interrogation, the “religious man” admitted his role as a trafficker. He reportedly gave the identity of his supplier, who is currently being sought.

The imam also informed investigators that another trafficker was regarding to receive a delivery of drugs. He revealed the identity of his accomplice. Thanks to this information, OCRTIS agents in Saint-Louis arrested this trafficker in possession of 8 kg of drugs in Potou, in the Louga region. In total, investigators seized 10.5 kg of Indian hemp between Gandiol and Potou. The two suspects were referred to the Saint-Louis prosecutor’s office, charged and remanded in custody.
