Bernhard Brink has been in the Schlager business for 50 years – and can look back on great success. However, he does not think much of the young Schlager offspring.

Nordhorn – Bernhard Brink (71) is an integral part of the hit scene. He has been one of the big names in the industry for around 50 years and is a guest at events and shows such as “Always Sundays” or “The Giovanni Zarrella Show”. But in the meantime, many young artists are also part of the party – not all of them can convince the musician. The reason: Many newcomers apparently overestimate themselves. It is precisely once morest such artists that Bernhard Brink is now launching an all-out attack.

Ego too big: That bothers Bernhard Brink regarding the Schlager newcomers

The 71-year-old has nothing once morest the fact that young talents want to gain a foothold in the hit industry. On the contrary: Bernhard Brink admires how musicians fight for their careers today. “I don’t want to have to start as a singer anymore and I’m really happy that I’ve had success, a record deal and gigs for five decades to this day,” he emphasizes southern courier. And why? In the past, there was not only more time to work and develop on new songs and albums – the TV scene was also more manageable.

But what particularly bothers the moderators these days is the behavior of many up-and-coming artists. “Today a lot of young people come along and think they are stars, even though they haven’t achieved anything and hardly anyone knows them,” he says angrily. He, on the other hand, learned a lot from his colleagues. Jürgen Marcus († 69), Peter Alexander († 84) or († 80) were his role models in many ways. What Bernhard Brink needs and what many musicians lack: “Hard work, ambition, willingness to fight, authenticity, talent, the willingness to learn by doing and a stable environment.”

Is Bernhard Brink planning the end of his career?

In business for 50 years – but no end in sight. As Bernhard Brink has now revealed, he can imagine still being on stage at the age of 80. “It depends on whether I’m still healthy and fit. That is absolutely the case at the moment,” he emphasizes. The singer plays tennis privately and works out in the gym. He has been married to his wife Ute Brink since 1987.

Career springboard? That’s what the TV star thinks of casting and talent shows

TV shows that are intended to facilitate the start of a music career are now the order of the day. “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” has been running on RTL for 20 years now. Even Florian Silbereisen (42) supported the jury of the show, thanks to which pop star Beatrice Egli (35) also became famous. Bernhard Brink also likes the appearances of the talents on DSDS or “The Voice”. However, success is not guaranteed. “I think it’s unfortunate that the majority of them disappear from the scene very quickly,” explains the man from Lower Saxony.

In addition to Beatrice Egli or Ramon Roselly (29), Linda Teodosiu (31) also proved that the DSDS asterisks can take off in the hit industry. The singer even works with Helene Fischer (39). “It’s really blatant, an extremely big pressure, because she’s often very perfectionist,” reveals Linda RTL. It is precisely these attributes that Bernhard Brink should particularly appreciate regarding Schlager icon Helene Fischer. Sources used: Südkurier, RTL
