the essential Italian tourists explain having had to pay nearly 700 euros following ordering a few drinks and two small dishes in a restaurant on the island of Mykonos, in the Cyclades.
They are known all over the world. The paradisiacal beaches of Mykonos, one of the Cyclades islands in Greece, have illustrated many postcards. On site, many catering establishments do not hesitate to pass on the cost of the panorama to the bill. Some restaurants take advantage of it a little too much… Italian tourists have recently had the bitter experience of it.
In a notice published on TripAdvisor, photo in support, the latter indicate that they were required to pay an astronomical bill at the restaurant “DK Oyster”, following having consumed a simple aperitif.

On the note are three orange juices, a glass of Spritz, a medium portion of prawns and some calamari. Italian tourists had to pay more than 700 euros bill. An amount that does not pass … “We were invited to sit down, and we were never informed of the exorbitant prices of food and drinks. They gave us food, without telling us, say Italian tourists. If I had had time to call the police, I would have. […] They destroy the image of Mykonos. This restaurant should close.”

The catering establishment is not at its first attempt. The DK Oyster is described as the “most infamous restaurant in Mykonos” by our colleagues at the New York Post. It has many negative opinions on the platform: more than 1,870 opinions have been given to this establishment, and 67% of them are negative.
The platform warns customers today: “Tripadvisor has become aware of certain recent events and press articles regarding this establishment which may not reflect the content of the reviews found on this page. We therefore suggest that you continue your research in order to obtain more information on this establishment when preparing your trip”.
