Four Orlando officers can be seen on body camera footage running fearlessly in the dark water toward the helpless driver shortly following 10 p.m. on Aug. 6.
“He’s going lower!” one of the officers can be heard saying. Two officers quickly removed their bulletproof vests and tool belts and dove into the water to help free the man.
The officers finally managed to break the glass and free the driver, and just in time.
The car’s taillights appear to be the only visible part of the vehicle left as two other officers are seen swimming towards the trio with the rescue rope in hand.
The team used the yellow rope to pull the driver back to shore, but he slips underwater just before reaching shore.
