Remembering Chris Peluso: A Broadway Star’s Legacy in American Musicals

Chris Peluso, the Broadway actor known for having participated in the greatest hits of American musicals, such as “Mamma Mia” or “Wicked” died at the age of 40, on August 15, leaving the world of American musicals completely turned upside down.

The music department at the University of Michigan, where he studied, announced his death on Friday,

“The Michigan Musical Theater is heartbroken to announce the passing of one of its family members and alumnus: the loving, charismatic, and divinely gifted Chris Peluso. We are wholeheartedly with his family”, can we read on the publication of the University.

Last year, Chris Peluso had to stop playing on stage, because of his mental disorder, the schizoaffective which haunted him. This disease caused him episodes of “crippling paranoia”. His friends had created a Gofundme to finance the treatment. More than $25,000 had been raised for the comedian. Last November, he was able to return to the stage.

The causes of his death have not been disclosed. Not only does he leave the world of American musicals in mourning, but also his wife and two young children.
