As long as the weather is warm outside, it’s great to spend as much time as possible outside. Just what exactly is there to do? To swing on a swing? Jump into hopscotch? Sitting in the sandbox? Boring! But now you have as many as 11 ways to forget this word.
1. DIY obstacle course
If there are a lot of children nearby and you need to keep them busy somehow, an obstacle course can save you. True, you have to show imagination: take swimming circles, jump ropes, balls outside. Maybe you have a rubber pool in your apartment? In a country house you will definitely find it!
Pull the rope low off the ground so that children can crawl under it or crouch low. Put the balls in a row – you can jump over them. You will also need to jump over a rope stretched in a straight line along the ground – from one side to the other, and so five or six times. And offer to throw small plastic balls or rings into the pool, if there are any at home.
The result is a real obstacle course! The task of the children is to pass it as quickly as possible. Just do not get carried away inventing overly complex exercises, otherwise the guys can inadvertently damage something. To avoid injury, keep an eye on the competitors and, if necessary, help them with the technique of passing obstacles.
2. Film screening in the fresh air
Unlike the previous one, this idea is as calm as possible. Did you watch old filmstrips on a sheet as a child? Here it’s regarding the same, only instead of the old apparatus – an ordinary projector. And the film is more dynamic and with sound.
Stretch a sheet between the trees, lay a blanket and take out the projector with a battery or a pilot with a long cord. You can arrange popcorn, take food and drinks. And then it’s up to the small – choose a movie or cartoon from the selection of “Mel” and enjoy.
3. Day of Neptune

Ideal for happy owners of summer cottages, a hose or a water pistol and good weather. Think back to summer camps where Neptune Day was a mandatory program. And what you can do in the process – play catch-up, hide and seek, or just arrange fights – is up to you. Just keep in mind that if the water from the street tap is too cold, it is better to fill the guns in advance so that it has time to warm up.
4. The game “squeeze the sponge”
You will need two empty buckets, two buckets of water and sponges. Here once more you have to run! Participants in two (or more, but it all depends on the number of buckets) teams will need to fill an empty bucket with water as quickly as possible using sponges. The team that squeezes the full bucket of water the fastest wins.
5. Picnic in the clearing
Collect small snacks for children (it can be chopped vegetables, sandwiches, juice, cookies, dryers, marmalade), take a blanket, select a clean clearing in advance. And go on a journey with baskets! This item is especially good for those who like to take pictures for memory – a couple of photos in the “Favorites” will definitely be added.
Just remember to clean up the picnic area following yourself! At the same time, show the children that it is important to keep the space clean.
6. Yard headquarters
Here it is better for parents to offer an idea and withdraw themselves. Make a hut in the yard, under some big tree (branches, blankets, pillows, battery-powered bulbs – almost glamping), give the children a secret task, bring a new desktop or subtly hint that some mysterious headquarters has appeared in the yard and It looks like it would be great to play there. You can sometimes take out cookies with water. And don’t forget regarding the blanket in the evening! Cool memories for junior high school students are guaranteed.
7. Stargazing

If you can travel out of town or live away from brightly lit objects, just keep your head up in the evening. And also pour a thermos of tea, take a blanket and arrange shooting shooting stars with the children. For the advanced, we also suggest looking for constellations.
8 Paper Boat Races
Make boats out of paper (preferably several at once – in case one gets wet and drowns), find a safe harbor for the regatta. Anything can be a harbor: a puddle, a bathtub, a swimming pool. Line up the ships in a row and start the race. You can blow on the boats to make them move faster. Just don’t touch it with your hands, otherwise you’ll be immediately disqualified!
9. Flyswatter painting
Yes, yes, you read everything correctly – we will draw with a fly swatter. Take A3 sheets, gouache and a terrifying fly killer. Put some paint on paper and slap it with a fly swatter. From the resulting blot, you can draw something. If you are not fighting flies, you can simply hit the paint spot with your palm. Just don’t forget aprons.
10. Do-it-yourself birdhouse

As they say, an old-fashioned way of spending summer leisure, which will warm the hearts of all family members for a couple more years. You can buy a kit for building a bird house on any marketplace or saw the boards yourself. If the child is old enough, he can be entrusted with hammering nails, and if not yet very old, painting and drawing patterns on the finished birdhouse. A separate pleasure then to feed the new tenants of the yard.
11. Map of a house or village
Have your child make a map of your home. Draw a plan of the apartment so that even a foreigner understands where everything is. By the way, if not all family members participate in the compilation of the map, it will be possible to hide the “treasure” for them. Let them search!
In case the child copes with the map of the house very quickly, invite him to draw up a plan of the yard or even the district. Will it work too?
