Dr. Haitham Reda Badr, Consultant of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Faculty of Medicine, Menoufia University, said that there are signs that, if they appear on the skin, indicate diabetes, so if you find them appearing on the body frequently, they should not be ignored.

Diabetes is one of the most common diseases around the world among people, and it is an increase in the rate of sugar in the blood from the normal level.

The diabetes and endocrinology consultant told Masrawy that diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases, as many patients are unaware of its symptoms, and it also occurs when the body is unable to absorb sugar (glucose) in its cells to obtain energy.

He pointed out that it is necessary to notice any changes that appear in the body, and among the common symptoms of diabetes are dizziness, blurry eyes, blurred vision, constant thirst, frequent urination, and weight loss.

And he continued that there are problems that appear on the skin that indicate diabetes, and this is due to poor blood circulation and low sensitivity of the nerves, and these signs are as follows:

The presence of scales on the body as a result of itching.

Blisters appear on the skin.

Slow wound healing.

The presence of dark lines around the neck and armpits.

Skin dryness and redness.

The appearance of boils in the body.

Is the appearance of boils a sign of diabetes?

The sudden appearance of boils on the body may indicate high levels of diabetes in the blood, and they disappear as soon as it moderates, but it is one of the skin signs that warns of diabetes, and attention must be paid when it appears in parts of the body such as the face and eyelids, in order to control the levels of sugar in the blood.

According to “WebMd” concerned with health, boils are a sign of high blood sugar, which he referred to as a bacterial infection that leads to the appearance of a boil “a thin red bump on the edge of the eyelid.”

And Johns Hopkins Medicine Hospital in the United States of America stated that people with diabetes, whether known to them or not, are at increased risk of developing an eyelid stye, and the symptoms of a stye may include the following:

Swelling or redness of the eyelid.

The feeling that there is something in your eyes.

Discomfort from bright light.

– Tearing and peeling of the eye.
