O Instagram launched a new trend so that its users can share in stories. This is the sticker “Before and following“, which aims to show two photos from different times of people using the tool. The novelty was implemented without fanfare by the platform.

In general, the function requires the user to take a picture or upload the image before actually starting to play. The meta platform itself describes the functionality as follows:

Compare two photos using custom interactive commands. Share memories, creative projects and more

How to post with the sticker

To get started, you need to open your app and go to Stories. Then take a photo or use one from the gallery so you can access the stickers. So, just swipe up from the bottom or touch the referring button to view the elements that can be added to this type of publication.

The “Before and following” sticker appears at the beginning, so just tap it and start publishing. Two new boxes, referring to two different moments, appear on the screen and you can click on each one to upload an image from your gallery to post.

Before choosing the photos, note that there are two details below. They serve to change the names of the boxes. That is, users can go beyond the “before and following” by choosing the following captions:

How it started x How it’s been
Expectation x Reality
Us last year vs Us now
Me in public vs Me in private
Not like this x So you can
2013 x 2023

Not only that, but the person can also choose to type something they like in each box, which gives even more customization possibilities. When you finish the edits, just tap “Finish” and finish your publication so that it joins the stories.
