Malayali Association of Greater Houston Cricket Tournament Finals: Exciting Conclusion at City Park in Stafford

Houston ∙ The Malayali Association of Greater Houston (MAG), one of the largest Malayali organizations in America, has reached its exciting conclusion at the City Park in Stafford, known as the Mecca of Cricket in America, which started on August 5.

Hundreds of cricket lovers in Houston are impatiently waiting to watch the semi-final and final matches on August 19 and 20 (Saturday and Sunday). Isaac b. Honorable Mayor of Stafford City, Ken Mathew delivered the inaugural address at the inaugural competition which began with a prayer by Prakash. Mag President Joji Joseph and Chairman Board of Trustees James Joseph extended their greetings, Sports Coordinator Biju Chalaikkal welcomed and Treasurer George Varghese gave a vote of thanks.

The tournament features teams from the best cricketers in and around Houston. The SOH Blues, who qualified for the semis following the preliminary round, will face the Dark Horse, while the Houston Knights will face the Houston Warriors in the semis.

The semi-final winners will meet in the final at Stafford City Park on Sunday 20th August at 1.30pm. The mega sponsor of the tournament is Aarav Sajan, loan officer and realtor at MIH Realty. Grand Sponsor Ann’s Grocers and Gold Sponsor Abacus Travels along with Rajan Angadiyil, Shaji Pappan and Anil Varghese are the other sponsors.

Anil Varghese, Raji Kottayam, Joji Joseph, Mevin John, George Varghese, Martin John, Vinod Cherian, Raji Mathew, Justin Thomas etc. are working under the leadership of Sports Coordinator Biju Chalakal for the success of the tournament.

The tournament winners will have an ever-rolling trophy and cash awards. All Houston sports fans are welcome to the tournament semis and finals, officials said.
