The number of Covid cases is on the rise in Geneva, but in a moderate way. According to cantonal doctor Aglaé Tardin, the positivity rate for PCR tests is low, less than 10%, but has been increasing since mid-July, she told the “Geneva Grandstand“. The HUG, for their part, have been welcoming between two and five patients affected by the coronavirus weekly in recent times. But the first data for this week show an increase: to date, sixteen people are hospitalized there with a positive Covid, including three in intermediate care. “Their number remains low and the trend is to be confirmed,” reassures Aglaé Tardin. It does not foresee a significant or worrying increase in hospitalizations. Moreover, the new Eris sub-variantwhose risk is considered low by the World Health Organization (WHO), has not yet been spotted at the end of the lake.
