As part of the Nights of the Stars, the Castonétoise association Andromède 4A offered 2 nights of discovery and observation of the celestial vault, its stars and in particular its Perseids.
A first event took place on Friday August 11 in Sévérac-l’Eglise, where 80 people were able to enjoy the magic of the show.
The next day, Saturday August 12, around 150 people gathered at the Costes Rouges for another magical spectacle, magnified by the fact that the municipality (which the association thanks) had for the occasion decommissioned the public lighting on the site concerned.
This is how, among other things, the passage of the Chinese space station was observed (during the two evenings), but also a train of Starlink satellites (Elon Musk). For those who stayed following 11 p.m., they might also admire Saturn and its rings and the Andromeda galaxy. Throughout the evening, the managers of Andromeda were available to participants to answer their many questions and to give the necessary explanations concerning the observations made at the telescopes… for an annual moment of sharing, the head in the stars and the mind out of time.
