Cancun International Airport Experiences Electrical Service Failures: Updates and Flight Information

Cancun, August 16 (Infoqroo).- The international airport of Cancun, one of the most important in Latin America and which receives thousands of users every day, reported problems with the supply of electricity.

According to information provided by Aeropuertos del Sureste (ASUR), the terminal’s concessionaire, throughout the day, due to failures in the power supply by the Federal Electricity Commission, failures occurred in different areas.

In the report to which access was had, from the beginning coordination was made with the CFE for the attention of the failure and its recovery and that it was maintained practically all day and that the causes of the failure must be informed by the company of the Mexican government .

It was also mentioned that the CFE supply was normalized, there was no affectation since the emergency plants came into operation to attend to the operational areas and that, as happens in these cases, there are areas that are affected, such as shops or air conditioning.

In the same way, it was possible to find out that this situation was intermittent throughout the day in different parts, that the service was restored and that CFE is working in a coordinated manner for any other event that may occur.

The Cancun airport reported this August 15, 531 operations, of which 268 were arrivals, 107 of those are national and 161 international, while departures were 263 of which 106 are national and 157 international.

Likewise, it was announced that Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeroméxico, Air Canada, Air Europa, Air Portugal, Air Transat, Alaska, American Airlines, Avianca, Avianca Costa Rica, British Airways, Condor, Copa, Delta, Eurowings, Evelope, scheduled operations. Frontier, JetBlue, Jetlines, Lan Peru, Magnicharter, Sky Airlines Peru, Southwest, Spirit, Sunwing, Thomson, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, Viva Aerobús, Volaris, Volaris Costa Rica, West Jet, Wingo, World2Fly.

Similarly, international destinations with flights were Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Bogotá, Boston, Buenos Aires, Cali, Camagüey, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Istanbul, Fort Lauderdale, Frankfurt, Guatemala, Holguín, Houston, Kansas City, Havana, Lima, Lisbon, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Managua, Medellín, Miami, Minneapolis, Montreal, New Orleans, New York, Newark, Orlando, Panama, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Puerto Rico, Quito, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, San José Costa Rica, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, Toronto, Washington.
