The executive’s temptation to create new taxes or change the rules worries business leaders.

We take the same and start once more. Each year, the budget arbitrations are the scene of a rather special vaudeville comedy. While a tax cut goes out the door, a contribution hike comes in through the window while a tax loophole removal hides in the closet. On stage, for this 2024 budget, which will be presented this fall, the beginning of the end of the tax benefits for non-road diesel (GNR), a change in the rule for the car bonus, an increase in the tax on plane tickets and the abolition of the “Pinel” – tax system which allows you to benefit from a tax reduction when buying accommodation for rental. Among the avenues still under study, we find a possible revision of taxes on alcoholic beverages or the abolition of the rest of the CVAE – a production tax -, promised for 2024, but which should be postponed at least in part to more late.
