After the devaluation, metallurgical SMEs warn that commercial and industrial activities were halted and demand an urgent response from the Government.

The president of the Argentine Chamber of the Small and Medium Metallurgical Industry (CAMIMA), José Luis Ammaturo, warned that “the uncertainty generated strong shocks, which paralyzed commercial and industrial transactions” and claimed that “the Ministry of Economy take the necessary urgent measures to give a response and find a solutionbecause there are still four months left for the change of government”.

“Shocks and uncertainty complicate SMEs, because many companies have debts in dollars and today they have to pay 25% more, which adds enormous uncertainty over the next 68 days”he explained.

According to the president of CAMIMA, the exchange rate run of the last hours and the financial uncertainty “directly affect the economy, the economy is confidence and, the measures that were taken in the last two years, all they did was create more uncertainty in the market.”

Unstoppable Dollar | they assure that “there is a lot of speculation in the exchange market”

On the other hand, Ammaturo stated that the situation is complex but it is not due to the value of the blue dollarwhich is “a reference” but to the fact that “companies do not get dollars to pay their suppliers and that is the biggest problem since it can cause shortages.”

“This situation will generate increased costs and shortage of goods”, he added.

“Our SMEs are decapitalized with each abrupt increase in the dollar and with the tax added a few days ago and now, with this uncertain outlook, which completely stops productive activity,” he concluded.
