A lawsuit dating back to 2017 between Apple and a number of smartphone buyers who accused the tech giant of deliberately reducing the performance of older models is coming to an end. According to the portal 9to5Mac, the “apple” company will be forced to pay from 310 to 500 million dollars. The case was brought once morest the background of a lawsuit from a number of iPhone owners who claimed that previous models of smartphones lost performance following the release of a new generation of phones. Then the company admitted that it really practices this, but it was called “caring for users” – which, of course, few people were satisfied with. In 2020, the parties came to an amicable agreement, but it took almost three more years to determine the amount of compensation due. As a result, owners of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone SE who joined the class action before October 6, 2020 will receive payments. The case file states that the payout per person will range from $25 to $500.
