Natural gas and electricity are generally less expensive in Belgium than in our neighbours, according to figures from the Creg, the energy regulator.
Electricity and natural gas prices are cheaper in Belgium than in neighboring countries, with the exception of the price of electricity in France, according to new figures from the Creg, the energy regulator.
According to the latter, the average annual electricity bill for a Belgian household in August was 1,170 euros, ie less than in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Only the French bill was lower (970 euros) due to the regulation of electricity prices in the country.
Pour the price of natural gas, the average annual bill for a Belgian household is 1,284 euros. A bill that is cheaper than in neighboring countries.
If Belgian households are those who have to pay the least for their energy among our neighbors – with the exception of electricity in France – it is because prices are directly indexed to wholesale market prices and are therefore falling faster than abroad, explains the Creg.
