Clément and Camille really like their student job at the fair. By AM Posted on 08/15/2023 at 18:55
At the Foire de Huy, it’s not just fairground families who work. There are also students who have nothing to do with the milieu. Clément Bourguignon, a Saint-Georgian, is one of them. He started working at the Namur fair, and for this month of August, he is present in Huy for the first time, in a granitas stand. “My cousin works here because her mother is friends with showmen. Since I was looking for a student job, I asked them to work at the fair,” he explains.
He likes this job quite well. “It’s quite nice because we see people. Since I’m more or less from here, I see quite a few people I know. I have already worked in a store, in the butcher’s section. I prefer to work at the fair, it’s really nice”. The job also appeals to his cousin, Camille: “I’m fine here, I wouldn’t want to change jobs, even if I had the chance”. In general, Clément begins his days between 3 and 4 p.m. and ends them around midnight. On August 15, it starts earlier, at 1 p.m., and ends later, between 1 and 2 a.m. Hours are still quite variable.
