With the release of Overwatch 2 on Steam, players can now use Valve’s platform to play Blizzard’s FPS. However, tens of thousands of users took the opportunity to destroy the game which received countless very negative reviews.
Overwatch 2 thus obtained a rating of 0.93% only five days following its arrival on Steam. If we believe Steam250this is the worst score ever recorded by a video game, ahead of War of the Three Kingdoms and Flatout 3: Chaos & Destruction.
If we look closely at player comments, we realize that the majority do not criticize the gameplay itself, but its monetization. We remember that users had difficulty accepting the transition to free to play during the transition from Overwatch to OW2.
The cancellation of the long-awaited PvE campaign is also at the heart of the critics, even if it will be partly present via the Story mode.
You release Overwatch 2 without PVE and you say that it will be released a little later… Whereas at that moment you knew very well that there would be NOTHING! You lied to everyone who bought Overwatch 1 SHAME on you!

Although these negative reviews exist, it does not prevent players from enjoying the game. According to Steamdb, over 75,000 players were connected to the game from Steam on the day of release. The peak of activity has gradually reduced and currently remains above 60,000. For Blizzard, the presence of OW2 on Steam is due in particular to the desire to reach more players, and we know that Valve’s platform is full of users ready to try F2P games.
