Today, Tuesday, the city of St. Catherine in South Sinai Governorate was subjected to sudden weather fluctuations, and clouds covered the city’s sky, then moderate rains fell, which resulted in light torrential rains in the Tarfa area.

The city of St. Catherine is exposed to rain and torrential rain for the second day in a row, in a unique phenomenon, as a result of the instability of the weather in the country.

And the local unit declared a state of extreme emergency, coordinating with all concerned authorities to follow up the repercussions of the situation firsthand, deploying heavy campaign equipment on the main and pivotal roads in the city to remove any siltation on the roads, and follow up the flow of torrents, to ensure that they proceed in their natural course to flow into the lakes and dams that have been created. For the purpose of storing flood water and using it for agricultural and drinking purposes.

And the local unit confirmed in a statement today that the torrents resulted from the accumulation of rainwater on the tops of the mountains, then it fell from the heights of the mountains in the form of waterfalls, to paint a wonderful painting in the desert of the region.

The statement indicated that all roads leading to the city are open and functioning normally, and none of them has been closed.
