The fifth edition of the East Broughton and Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus firefighters’ car wash, held on Saturday August 12, raised nearly $4,500 in donations and sponsorships.
The activity took place right in front of the new fire station located on Route 112, which should be completely delivered during the fall.
“Everything went very well. Once once more, the population responded well. We also had the temperature on our side. We got a little less sponsorship this year, but we welcomed more vehicles than in 2022, for a total of 190, ”director Jean Gagnon told Courrier Frontenac.
He specified that the money will allow the acquisition of a machine to clean the clothes of combat to the return of a fire. “We will be able to remove contaminants and thus better preserve the health of our members since cancer in firefighters is now recognized as an occupational disease. »
The activity will be back next year.
